Hours of Service: An overview of the hours of service rules, including limits, log book/time record completion and record keeping requirements. This session also includes a component on electronic logging devices.

Commercial Vehicle Operation 101: A session designed to review all the basic commercial vehicle operating rules that a company will need to know to remain compliant. Includes topics on when vehicles require annual inspections (yellow stickers), what class of licence does my driver need to operate my equipment, how do I properly register my vehicle, when do I need a CVOR, daily inspection and log book.

How to Survive an MTO/Police Inspection: What to expect during a roadside inspection and some simple tricks help ensure a smooth interaction.

Understanding an MTO Audit: What to expect during an MTO audit and how to prepare and ensure your records are compliant.

Dangerous Goods: The MTO curriculum that is instructed to new police and MTO officers seeking CVSA certification has been modified into a one day driver training session.

CVOR and Driver Abstracts: A session detailing how each works and the ramifications of out of service declarations and convictions for both.

Measure up of vehicle combinations: Ontario Truck Driving School will provide documentation that informs the operator if the vehicle combination meets SPIF requirements and what the maximum axle and allowable vehicle weight is. In addition, the client will be informed if the combination qualifies to be grandfathered or if a special permit is available and when each would end.
The cost for this service will be $150.00 per vehicle combination, plus applicable travel costs and mileage at $0.40/km (not inclusive of HST). A minimum of 7 vehicle combinations is required to honour this rate. Requests involving less than 7 vehicle combinations will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Removal of Out of Service Declarations: Ontario Truck Driving School will review Commercial Vehicle Inspection Reports (CVIRs) for improperly recorded defects or Out of Service declarations at no cost and where warranted attempt to have them removed.
The cost for this service will be $130.00 per hour (not inclusive of HST).

Driver assessment: Ontario Truck Driving School can assist with driver assessments by reviewing driver logs and providing a report that indicates any log book deficiencies and the subsequent charges and associated CVOR points that would have resulted had MTO conducted the audit of the logs.
The cost for this service will be $100.00 for 1 month of daily logs without supporting document comparisons or $200.00 for 1 month of daily logs with supporting document comparisons (not inclusive of HST)

Mock Audit: A review of company transportation records designed to identify regulatory violations, gaps in record keeping practices and assist with monitoring drivers and vehicles.  The audit scope can be tailored the needs of the company, ranging from a single driver/vehicle up to a sampling of the client’s choosing.  Regardless of size, an overview report is provided for each file reviewed, outlining the record review findings.

The cost for this service will be $800.00 per day on-site with the client, plus applicable travel costs and mileage at $0.40/km (not inclusive of HST). A minimum of 2 days on-site with the client is required to honour this rate. Requests involving a single day on-site will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Interviews and Show Cause Hearing: When a client is contacted by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) – Carrier Sanctions and Investigations Office for an interview or show cause sanction hearing, Ontario Truck Driving School can help the client prepare and guide them through the process. Ontario Truck Driving School can provide insight into MTO expectations and assist with the development of an action plan based on the client’s operating record that will increase the likelihood that the MTO will set aside an immediate sanction.
The cost for this service will be $1000.00 per day, plus applicable travel costs and mileage at $0.40/km (not inclusive of HST).

Audit Assist: When a client is contacted by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for an audit or compliance review, we can assist them through the audit process, help them understand the findings and work towards correcting areas of non-compliance.
The cost for this service will be $800.00 per day on-site with the client, plus applicable travel costs and mileage at $0.40/km (not inclusive of HST). A minimum of 2 days on-site with the client is required to honour this rate. Requests involving a single day on-site will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Expert Witness: Ontario Truck Driving School will provide an expert witness to testify in court regarding matters related to commercial vehicle compliance.

The cost for this service will be marketed at a rate of $1,000.00 for one day at court, plus applicable travel costs and mileage at $0.40/km (not inclusive of HST). Additional days will be marketed at $500.00 for a half day or $1,000.00 for a full day (if the expert witness is needed to return for the afternoon court session, a full day will be billed).
